Strand Lab Urology @ UT Southwestern

Kate joined the Strand Lab in 2025 as a graduate student in the Genetics, Development, and Disease Ph.D. Program at UT Southwestern. She received her bachelor’s degree in Biology from The University of Texas at Austin in 2019. Prior to joining the lab, Kate worked with Ludmila Prokunina-Olsson, Ph.D. as a Postbaccalaureate Cancer Research Training Award Fellow at the National Cancer Institute. In this role, she worked on single-cell genomics and genetics and genomics of bladder cancer. Currently in the Strand Lab, Kate is working to identify drivers of fibroblast proliferation causing Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH).
